West Bay Opera has a wide variety of costumes and accessories available for rental. We can provide costumes for events such as weddings, Halloween, corporate parties, holiday parties, costume parties, and theatrical productions.
Costumes average about $45 to $95 for a complete outfit. Some of our very fancy gowns and menswear cost a little extra. Some individual items are available for a smaller fee. We do not rent shoes or wigs.
The costumes and accessories in our collection were built or acquired for West Bay Opera productions over the last half-century. They are high quality pieces, professionally designed and built with excellent materials and to exacting standards. Whether you plan to wear it for Halloween or onstage, your 19th century military uniform or Sicilian peasant outfit will not look like a cheap imitation, it will feature the historically correct colors and shapes and feel and look like the genuine item.
Occasionally, West Bay Opera has unique items or sets available for sale to theatrical companies or individuals, from its large collection of period costumes. Please contact Costumes@WBOpera.org for more information.
The Costume Shop's regular hours are Wednesdays between 12:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. You can also visit the Costume Shop by appointment outside of these hours. Appointments are not required during regular hours. Feel free to just stop by. If you would like to make an appointment for a time outside of our Costume Rental Hours, please email the Costume Shop Supervisor at Costumes@WBOpera.org.
A $20 per hour surcharge applies for appointments outside of Costume Rental hours with a one hour minimum. The appointment surcharge may be reduced to a $20 flat rate for bulk rentals, at the discretion of the Costume Shop Supervisor. There is no surcharge for appointments or drop-ins during regular Costume Shop hours. Returns must also happen during regular hours or by pre-arranged appointment.
