In collaboration with Yannis Adoniou's KUNST-STOFF Dance Company Synopsis:
Max, a young hunter, loves Agathe; but in order to win her hand he must succeed at a shooting contest. Kaspar, who has secretly pledged his soul to the Devil, offers Max seven magic bullets which will hit their target regardless of the skill of the marksman. But the seventh bullet belongs to the Devil... A love story with a twist and more than a hint of the supernatural, Der Freischütz was the first major German Romantic opera. Great arias and ensembles, soaring choruses and lively folk dances fill this superb score, considered the precursor to Wagner's operas. |
