La sonnambula
by Vincenzo Bellini
Feb 14, 16, 22, 23, 2025
A young woman is accused of infidelity just before her wedding. But it turns out she's just a sleepwalker. A seemingly simple story that reveals a lot about the prejudice facing women in a male-dominated society. This is a true gem of the bel canto repertoire, featuring some of Bellini's most gorgeous vocal writing.
José Luis Moscovich - Stage Dir and Cond.
Otello
by Giuseppe Verdi
May 23, 25, 31, and June 1, 2025
Verdi's take on the Shakespeare play about blind jealousy and its tragic consequences. Delivered with the irrepressible dramatic force and finely honed expressive craft of the great composer's final years. This is some of the most exquisite music in the entire operatic repertoire.
José Luis Moscovich - Conductor
Richard Harrell - Stage Director
